A Message for This Moment: PR Amid the Storm

The crisis on every corner.

I have some bad news for anyone trying to do the right thing; it's rough out there. News outlets are under fire. Creative people are being priced out while burning out and giving into the ease of letting AI do what humans do best. Modern marketing has become an extractive, predatory race to the bottom. And for those willing to burn the world down, the bar has never been lower to get mentioned in the news.

It's nearly impossible to plan and launch a traditional PR story amid the chaotic global news cycles.

This is no time to give up.

Show me someone consistently creating and doing the right thing and inspiring others to do the same, and I'll show you a reason to face the day. This is where the magic is. These are the kinds of people I like to work with!

There's an intention behind my brand of PR.

I look for conscious, intentional clients who are working toward a better collective future, who are trying build connection, and heal our world. It sounds esoteric, but I mean it when I say I don't want to promote another product or story that solely exists to make money for shareholders with no outside value or repayment of the cost of production.

I know how powerful PR is for a good story. A good story, told to the right audience, has the power to focus and inspire the public, and that is what I hope to do.

If you're in the thick of it, you're not alone.

For the emotionally conscious out there, engaged in creative works, community building, and working to build a good future, I see you. I see how far you've come, and I wish you success, community, and joy. I hope our paths cross some day soon.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Southern Lushootseed-Speaking Coast Salish

Acknowledgement to the southern Lushootseed-speaking Coast Salish Indigenous Peoples whose land I live and work on.

I would not be the person I am today without growing up in what is now called the Bay Area. This land also includes the traditional land and waterways of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People of past and present. It is with honor and gratitude to the land itself, the plants, animals, and the Duwamish Tribe that I practice my work.

The Puyallup Tribe
This land is also on and adjacent to the traditional homelands and waterways of the Puyallup Tribe. The Puyallup people have lived on and stewarded these lands since the beginning of time and continue to do so today. I recognize that this land acknowledgement is one small step toward true allyship, and I commit to uplifting the voices, experiences, and histories of the Indigenous people of this land and beyond.
